Art has been my passion since childhood, a welcome creative outlet that feeds my soul.
As a teenager, I enjoyed drawing animals and still life. Painting wasn't in my scope of talents at the time.
During highschool I had an art teacher, Mr. Williams, who brought a sense of fun, and variety to our classes. He touched on many different styles, and multi media that opened my eyes to the possibilities.
During my 30s, I experienced anxiety disorder and needed something positive to focus on. I decided to try my hand at painting. Over the last 12 years I have taken lessons on and off with a very talented artist. These lessons were vital to the development of my skill level and confidence as an artist.
The process of developing a piece from beginning to end is one I find challenging and rewarding.
Although, life hasn't always lent to the opportunity to invest myself whole-heartedly into the process, I have learned to create time in my life for this much needed outlet. Art is a part of my soul.
